How to Put on a pair of laboratory Wrist Wraps
1. Position the Wrist Wrap:
-
- Look for the Velcro or hook-and-loop side of the wrist wrap. The wrap should have one end with a loop or hook for securing it after you wrap it around your wrist.
-
- Unroll the wrist wrap to its full length, ensuring there are no twists or tangles.
2. Place the Thumb Loop:
-
- Find the thumb loop (if your wrist wraps have one) and slide your thumb through it. The thumb loop helps guide the wrap in place and ensures the wrap stays positioned correctly on your wrist.
-
- The thumb loop should sit near the base of your thumb, with the rest of the wrap hanging down toward your wrist.
3. Start Wrapping Around the Wrist:
-
- Take the loose end of the wrist wrap and start wrapping it around the base of your wrist (around your wrist joint) while keeping it snug but not too tight.
-
- You want the wrap to go around the wrist joint multiple times, depending on how much support you need.
4. Apply Tension as You Wrap:
-
- As you wrap, apply tension to the strap if you want a tight fit. Make sure the wrap is not too tight to the point of cutting off circulation, but tight enough to provide solid support.
-
- Be sure the wrap covers the wrist area well but doesn’t restrict your hand movement too much. You should still be able to grip the barbell or weights with ease.
5. Secure the Wrist Wrap:
-
- Once you've wrapped the strap around your wrist a few times (usually 2-3 wraps), use the Velcro or hook-and-loop fastener to secure the end of the wrist wrap.
-
- Make sure the Velcro is firmly attached to ensure the wrist wrap stays in place during your lift.
6. Repeat for the Other Wrist:
-
- Repeat the process on your other wrist if you're using wrist wraps on both hands for extra support.
